The coveted Stanley Cup made its way to the Dauphin Personal Care Homes and the Dauphin Regional Health Centre on August 22nd. Barry Trotz, born and raised in Dauphin, brought the NHL Championship trophy back to his hometown. He touched base with those receiving care and recognized those who provide it.
Trotz was the head coach of the 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals, who captured Lord Stanley’s mug this past National Hockey League season. He has since moved on from coaching in Washington and is now the head coach of the NHL’s New York Islanders.
Trotz had many public events planned throughout the day but he took time out of his hectic schedule to ensure that some who could not make it away from health care sites during the day still got a chance to participate in the festivities.
