The Caring For Kids Radiothon was held in the Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) Atrium on April 18. The event, a partnership between the Children's Hospital Foundation of MB and the BRHC Foundation, raised $60,350 for the purchase of equipment to help sick children in our province.
Of the amount raised, $14,579 will stay in Brandon for the purchase of a fetal monitor wireless base for the BRHC Maternity Unit. Currently, all monitors are wired. This unit will allow patients to move about freely. It is waterproof to allow tub use and encourages position changes resulting in increased patient satisfaction.
Thank you to Carson Burr and his family for their fundraising efforts and passion for this event. Carson knows first-hand the importance of the Children's Hospital having spent time there as an infant. Prairie Mountain Health and the Foundation thanks everyone including donors, sponsors and entertainers for their support and participation.
