- Must hold fellowship from the Royal College of Canada.
- Must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Must provide proof of acceptable malpractice coverage prior to starting practice.

Prairie Mountain Health is currently recruiting 2 general obstetrician/gynaecologist to the city of Brandon. Brandon Regional Health Centre is the regions primary referral centre, serving a catchment area in excess of 150,000 residents with between 1600-1700 deliveries per year. The 313-bed Regional Health Centre offers 12 labour and delivery rooms and 20 bed state-of-the-art ‘Single Room Maternal Child’ unit including a surgical theatre and neonatal intensive care beds. Diagnostic Services include radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine. There is a wide range of specialist services available on site including paediatrics, internal medicine, general and orthopaedic surgery. Applicants will have the opportunity to join one of the various clinics located throughout the city. This position offers one day a week of OR time with an average of 1 in 5- to 1 in 6 on call. There are also multiple teaching opportunities if this is of interest to the applicant.

Brandon is a thriving city with a population of over 48,000, located 200 km west of Winnipeg on the TransCanada Highway. It is large enough to supply all the retail, medical, educational and cultural needs on a daily basis and small enough to avoid high costs of living and long commutes to the workplace.  Brandon University has a significant reputation in music, general arts and science programs. Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options. Riding Mountain National Park is one hour north of the city, and the Peace Gardens are situated on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south.  There are numerous other recreational areas in Western Manitoba.  Dubbed “The Host City”, Brandon’s enthusiastic volunteer base lands many provincial, national and international events.  The “Wheat City” is a vibrant community in which to live, work and play.

Renumeration: Compensation is derived from fee-for-service billing as per the current physician's manual negotiated in the Master Agreement between Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living collective agreement.
     On Call Stipends arepaid as per the on-call specialist; Doc of the Day agreement between the Minister of Health and Doctors Manitoba.
